4/5/6 Boys Basketball
Hello players and parents of our 4/5/6 grade boys basketball team! The basketball season is once again upon us. I wanted to write you a brief note to inform you of some general information regarding the upcoming season. Our season will kick off on Monday, January 7th with our first practice being held from 3:30-4:45. This team will focus on fundamentals, teamwork, equal playing time, and having fun. The school will provide a jersey and shorts that must be returned at the end of the season. The players in 4th grade will also get a gym locker and lock for the duration of the basketball season.
Some other important information for you to know is that all practices and home games will be played at Grace Lutheran School. This year we will practice on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 3:30-4:45/5:00 (no practice on Wednesdays or Fridays). Once the game schedule gets underway our games will generally be played on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but may fall on a Monday or Friday. I have not received a game schedule yet but when I do I will get it to you as soon as possible as well as post it on the Athletics webpage http://gracepe.weebly.com. I will also post any updates or changes to our schedule on the website.
We will have only one team this year consisting of 4th, 5th, and 6th graders, but will only play 5th grade teams from the other schools. Our games should be played at 4:00, but some conflicts do arise and we may play at a different time.
Attached to this letter is a concussion information sheet and form that must be filled out and signed by a parent and the athlete before participating in any practices or games. Please get this back to Mr. Wateland as soon as possible before Monday.
This team does follow the school policy on athletic eligibility. Students must have a C- or better and may not have any incompletes to play. A student may practice with the team but will not be able to play in games until that student improves his grades.
Please remember you are responsible for your child’s transportation to and from all away games. You will also need to pick your child up after practice at Grace Lutheran. Please feel free to contact me at school (701-232-7477) if you have any questions or concerns prior to the first practice on the 7th. Thank you for your support!
